We provide the world with a better and healthier option for energy, with the finest and highest quality ceremonial grade matcha being our key ingredient. Our matcha beverages provide higher energy levels with a sharpened focus thanks to L-Theanine. The caffeine levels in MatchaKo are similar to coffee without the jitters, post-coffee crash, acidity, or lingering breath. MatchaKo contains over 100 times the number of antioxidants found in ordinary tea and includes an abundance of nutrients and minerals. Matcha is known to boost your metabolism, and MatchaKo aims to improve your overall sense of wellbeing.
MatchaKo's name comes from Matcha and Ko. Ko, in Japanese, translates “Child,” a reminder that our beverages are derived from matcha.
How it started
Purchasing matcha lattes at big-name coffee shops is convenient but unhealthy, as most coffee shops use a low-grade powder loaded with sugar, which negates the benefits matcha should provide. And while there are some canned matcha drinks on the market, the taste tends to be bitter due to the use of culinary grade matcha. That’s why we decided to make our own organic, all-natural matcha, made with only the best ingredients and served in a ready-to-drink can.
MatchaKo was born in a New York City kitchen and based on the desire for a cleaner, higher-quality matcha beverage. With ceremonial grade matcha (the best possible matcha available), natural sweetness from Grade-A Amber maple syrup, and fresh lemon juice not from concentrate, MatchaKo uses only the finest available ingredients for a truly excellent taste.
What is matcha?
Matcha is a finely ground green tea powder that comes in a variety of qualities. Culinary grade matcha is a common, low-quality, bitter ingredient in many matcha-based foods and drinks in stores and cafes. Ceremonial grade matcha, used in MatchaKo, is made with young, fresh, shade-grown green tea leaves, providing a smooth flavor without the bitterness found in lesser quality matcha.
